Erin Winick

Erin is a maker, engineer, writer, entrepreneur, designer, and science communicator. She is in her 5th year in mechanical engineering at the University of Florida and has a passion for showing the art and creativity in science and engineering, as well as encouraging women in STEM.

Erin is the CEO of Sci Chic, a company she founded in October 2015 which creates 3D printed jewelry that is inspired by science and engineering concepts. She was the winner of the 2016 national SheKnows #CampusPitch Competition for her work with Sci Chic. She uses this as a tool to teach about science and technology.

As an engineering student, Erin has interned at John Deere, Solar Turbines, Keysight Technologies, and Bracken Engineering. She loves being a hands-on engineer and creating new technologies. She has performed and published research on 3D Printing Outreach in partnership with the Martson Library.

?Erin has continually served as an advocate for women in STEM. She served as the president of UF's Society of Women Engineers from 2014-2015 and the SWE Region D Collegiate Representative from 2015-2016. She has volunteered at local elementary schools, museums and maker events, bringing accessible science to the next generation.

Erin spends her weekends hiking, writing, and attending events to spread science literacy and the art in science.
