Dr. Hillary Cauthen is the Co-Owner of Texas Optimal Performance & Psychological Services, LLC, Austin, Texas. She is a lecturer at Texas State University in their psychology department & at JFKU in their graduate sport psychology program. Hillary's education began with a focus in sport psychology. Through her studies, she realized the magnitude sport had on one's personal growth and mental wellness. Understanding the psychological aspect of sport, she began to blend the fields of clinical and sport psychology. She has 10 years of experience applying mental skills training to individuals, teams, and professional organizations.

Hillary’s applied work specializes in clinical sport psychology services and her research focuses on mental wellness within athletes. Hillary is a Licensed Psychological Associate, Texas, Certified Mental Performance Consultant, & listed in the USOC Sport Psychology Registry.

Hillary has served on numerous committees within the organization. She has previously served as Southwest Regional Student Representative and was a member of the Website Content Committee. She currently serves on the Ethics Committee, CMPC Task Force, and Chair of the Mental Health SIG. She is also a member of American Psychological Association, and APA- Division 47. Hillary serves as the Membership Chair for APA Division 47.

Hillary earned her Psy.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, LA. Prior, she earned an M.S. in Kinesiology Sport Studies, Sport Behavior & Performance from Miami University, a B.S. in Kinesiology Sport Studies, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire.
