Lisa Silfwerbrand

Creativity has always been a part of who I am! From the time I was little, I have always thrived on thinking up ways to create unique and beautiful pieces.

I grew up in Ottawa, Ontario but moved to Boston, Massachusetts to pursue higher education. After completing 2 undergraduate degrees and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, I spent 10 years in the United States teaching young children. I love teaching and it is definitely a passion of mine. I moved back to Canada after 14 years in the US and began running and growing a small business in the health industry.

Recreated Designs was then founded in 2013 out of my passion for saving things from the global trash stream while turning them into beautiful statement pieces and my love of painting. We live in a day and age when more and more perfectly useful items are ending up in a landfill when they could be remade, recreated and reused usually with just a little elbow grease and some paint!

I have a passion for the environment and the beauty that we find around us everyday. I strive to recreate not only my own home but yours as well. Creating a peaceful and beautiful environment to live in never has to be expensive or complicated and I am happy to empower you to do the creating yourself by showing you how to make something or to create it for yourself.

When I am not creating, I spend hours hunting for things that I can "save",  spend as much time as I can outside, travel (I have been to 12 countries so far and am dying to add to that sooner than later!), and hang out with the cuddly and furry love of my life... He makes me smile every single day :)
