Lorrie Sullenberger
Lorrie Sullenberger is a community and social advocate, and believes one person, one small deed at a time, can make a world of difference.Lorrie sits on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters Bay Area. She is very active in the organization and has enjoyed a 30-year friendship with her "Little Sister" Sara, for which she was named a Diablo Magazine Threads of Hope Award recipient in 2012.Lorrie is a longtime women's wellness advocate and fitness expert. She has made many appearances on local television shows; she has also written for, and consulted with fitness magazines to encourage women to stay active and focus on their health.Lorrie is also a 26-year volunteer for Guide Dogs for the Blind, and an 11-year volunteer with Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF). She and her family have served as a breeding dog custodian for four beloved Golden Retrievers, and trained two Guide Dog puppies, preparing them as future working guides. Lorrie received ARF's Hope Award in 2012 for her work fostering newborn bottle kittens.Lorrie is married to Captain Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger, who famously landed US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River on January 15, 2009. She is the proud mother of two active and hard-working daughters. They live in Danville, California.
