People will be doing a double-take when they see you with this hair and makeup from the Telio show. Too out-there for you? Try the same eye makeup shades, but apply them on your eyelids instead; and, for your hair, skip the hair accessory and focus on the updo instead.
Telio, a fabric distributor, for their runway show at Montreal Fashion Week features a mix of design students — so as you can imagine the styles and looks will vary greatly, each with a very different feeling. With this in mind, for the makeup, Amélie Ducharme aimed for a more universal look — nothing too edgy, or too tied to one inspiration or period.
The makeup
Eye makeup was applied in a C-shape from about the temple down around the eyes and to the cheekbone, touching the brow bone and eyebrows, too. The colours also fade in (the strongest colour at the outside edge of the C with it fading as the colour is closer to the eyes or centre of the face). Some models were given a warmer look, using the Tropical Fusion eyeshadow palette 205 (the orange colour) and the copper and gold shades from the Dazzling Metallics palette 119. The remaining models were given a cooler, pink eye, using Simply Ageless in 230, and the pink and white shades from the Firecracker palette 100. White eye pencil highlighted the inner corners of the eyes, and Cover Girl Last Blast mascara was applied to top and lower lashes.
Lipstick in a coppery frost shade (Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Hypnotic 220) was dabbed over moisturized lips.
The hair
For hair, the look had two textures, most slick in the front and softer in the back. Hair was slicked back into a ponytail (Pantene Classic Gel and Creme were used to make the hair more pliable) and unique wooden hair accessories were inserted on top, creating a slight roll. The ponytail was teased (“so that the hair won’t split apart when styled,” says stylist Rabi Bazzi) and two more elastics were placed around the ponytail (around the middle and at the tail end). These two elastics then served as “anchor points” to turn the hair in once and then again, using the second elastic anchor to create a unique, fanned-out shape.
