The Expendables 2 shot to the top of the charts this week with a box office No. 1 thanks to Arnold, Chuck, Bruce, Sly and — of course — Jean-Claude.
Hot men with guns, here we come. If your man didn’t drag you to The Expendables 2 this weekend, odds are he’ll want to see it next weekend, as the action ensemble film rose to the top of the box office charts this week with an undeniable No. 1. The film has grossed an estimated $28.7 million at the box office, according to Deadline Hollywood.
Coming in a close second is last weekend’s No. 1, The Bourne Legacy, with $17 million in box office returns. The Jeremy Renner spy flick that takes the Bourne series to a new level was a hit with fans regardless of the absence of Bourne himself, Matt Damon.

The adorable yet a bit spooky film, ParaNorman, ranks No. 3 this week with an estimated $13.3 million at the box office. This stop-motion animation is about a boy named Norman who is an outsider because he can see and talk to ghosts. When his town is overrun by zombies, though, everyone points to Norman as the one who can solve the problem. Now all he has to do is find the courage.

A political spoof perfect for a little election-year fun, The Campaign ranks fourth this week with $13.3 million at the box office. Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis face off in an uber serious election while they are anything but earnest.

Coming in fifth this week is another new release, Sparkle, a film about rising to the top when all you’ve got is a golden voice and a whole lot of spark. Starring the late Whitney Houston, this film pays homage to the singer and her great talent. It grossed $12 million in box office returns.

Still riding high on the top 10 list, the summer blockbuster sensation The Dark Knight Risescomes in sixth this week with $11.1 million, bringing its domestic haul to over $400 million. Not too shabby, Batman!

Rounding out the top 10 are The Odd Life of Timothy Green at No. 7 with $10.9 million, Hope Springs at No. 8 with $9.1 million, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days at No. 9 with $3.8 million and Total Recall at No. 10 with $3.5 million.
