Pink is fully embracing her wild side this summer. First up? A crazy half-shaved, half-extension hairstyle!
We love how unpredictable Pink can be — and she definitely lived up to that reputation this weekend when she showed off her new half-long, half-shaved hairstyle.
“Officially decided that June is crazy hair month. If there’s something you have been wanting to do—go for it! No Fear! Crazy hair is fun,” the singer tweeted on June 1, discussing her new style that’s accented with pink highlights.
Also, can we talk about how daughter Willow is the spitting image of her mom? Adorable!
It seems like quite a few celebrities have adopted the shaved-with-extensions look lately, from Rihanna to the ever-entertaining Amanda Bynes. We wonder, though: How do extensions “stick” to such short hair? To get that answer, we reached out to Amy Michleb, creative director of Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salons, for a few tips.
“There are many hair extension options out there, but if a client wanted to achieve this length of hair on top of a really short haircut, we would use the new stick-on extensions,” Michleb said. “Our preference is the Quikkies by Hairdreams, where you sandwich the client’s hair between two very thin strips of extension with tape.”
The extensions aren’t damaging to the hair, according to Michleb, and they can last up to six weeks.
“They can also be used to accent with fun colors or to help clients grow out shorter lengths while feeling like they have a new style,” she added.
Seems like an easy way to try out extensions without the commitment — and price tag — of traditional sew-in strands.
