Nicki Minaj unveiled the first images of her upcoming Kmart clothing line. The looks are… interesting, but definitely wearable!
The first images of Nicki Minaj’s upcoming clothing line are out— and it’s not as out-there as we expected!
That’s not to say the “High School” rapper didn’t go all out for the line, slated to launch later this year. The former American Idol judge incorporates plenty of prints into the dresses and leggings in the line. Of course, she’s also added a ton of bright colors and crop-tops to round out the collection.
“There are some dresses that I am obsessing over already. They tuck you in the right places and enhance you in the right places,” she said, adding that she doesn’t want to “push anyone away” with outlandish looks.
“Comfortable equals confident. I’m doing this for women in general to feel beautiful and sexy. Any woman can wear it and feel confident!”
We’re still on the fence as to whether or not adult women will embrace the style, but the Barbz will undoubtedly camp out at their local Kmarts to get their hands on the pieces.
Minaj will be wearing her own stuff, too.
“It’s very important that I’m not just slapping my name on something,” the 30-year-old said earlier this year. “It’s important that my fans are going to know that if Nicki is putting it in her line, then Nicki is going to be wearing it.”
The notoriously outlandish rapper is apparently embracing a more mature fashion sense these days. Gone are the Technicolor clothes. In their place? Romantic dresses.
“I have been doing a lot of dresses lately, and I feel more confident when I wear dresses,” she said. It doesn’t have to be super over-the-top sexy. Some of the dresses that I have been doing lately have been completely covered, like sweater dresses, and my fans have really responded to it… I’m really focused on the dresses! I’ve been feeling so romantic and sexy lately.”
