Admit it: Part of the reason you watched Emily Maynard on The Bachelorette was to scope out her chic style. Now you have a chance to get (part of) her look, thanks to her new jewelry collection: Emily Maynard for Towne & Reese!

SheKnows: How did the jewelry line come about?
Emily Maynard:Towne & Reese is a company that started in Charlotte, and I used to wear a lot of their pieces on The Bachelorette. I eventually formed a friendship with Christi [Pack] and Jessica [Stanfield]. We were talking one day, and they were like, “Why don’t you do a line with us?” I was trying to figure out what to do next — “Should I open a children’s clothing store?” — and it just seemed like the perfect opportunity.
SK: Was design something you always wanted to do?
EM: Honestly, I never even thought about it. It’s been a great opportunity, and it’s really [a] perfect match for me.
SK: Where did you get the inspiration for the pieces?
EM: All over the place: my mom’s jewelry box, antique shops, places I’ve traveled. I also thought about the things that I wanted that I didn’t have in my closet. I just pulled inspirations from everything in my life.
SK: Do you have a favorite?
EM: It’s really hard to pick — they’re all so special to me. I will say that I wear the Susie, Bethany and Scarlett bracelets every day, though.
SK: Will you do more collections? Any plans to branch out into clothing design?
EM: Right now, I’m just so excited to be doing the jewelry line. We’re already starting to think about a second collection… it’ll probably be out sometime around the holidays.
SK: What are your fashion must-haves this summer?
EM: I’m wearing a lot of maxi dresses this summer. I’m still looking for the perfect pair of cutoff shorts, though — the type that I can wear to soccer practice and stuff like that. Overall, I’m all about wearing easy things that I can add jewelry to make it more special.
SK: Where do you like to shop?
EM: I really hate going to the mall. Instead, I do a lot of boutique shopping here in Charlotte. The city has a lot of really great boutiques like KK Bloom, The Cheeky Bean and Scout & Molly’s.
SK: What do you splurge on?
EM: Definitely makeup, skin care products, shoes and pocketbooks.
SK: Your skin is absolutely gorgeous. How do you keep it looking so flawless?
EM: Thank you! I actually have really sensitive skin, so I have to use a bunch of different products. I can say that using my Clarisonic has really helped with breakouts. I notice a huge difference. I’ve also used Skinceuticals serums for years.
I’ve also always heard that drinking more water helps keep skin clear, but I haven’t been able to kick my Diet Coke habit long enough to find out [laughs].
SK: What’s your No. 1 beauty tip for women?
EM: One thing I’ve learned along the way is that less is more. Honestly, I get a lot of tips from going on YouTube. The [vloggers] on there make it look easy — you actually get to see it done on a real person instead of just in a photo. I think that’s really helpful.
SK: Whom do you look up to, style-wise?
EM: I really love [former Bachelorette] Jillian Harris’ style. She just has the best style — I think she’s just the coolest person.
SK: What’s the best fashion advice you’ve ever received?
EM: I’d say it’s “Wear what you feel good in.” Also, always have a good tailor. I buy stuff from Forever 21 and have a tailor take it in… it just makes the clothes look more expensive, and I end up wearing it a lot more.
