What’s in your summer weekend bag?

Summer is all about long weekends at the beach — but are your prepared? Check out some of our beach bag must-haves!

Skin cancer is one of our biggest life fears, and we’re not messing around with the sun. You need protection the whole way through, and it should start with putting your best face forward. We’re all about Clinique City Block Sheer Oil-Free Daily Face Protector ($19). This broad-spectrum sun protection blocks UVA and UVB rays, and also manages to prevent sweat from ruining our otherwise perfect daytime faces. Tip: Wear it under your makeup during the week!

A lot can go down when you are on the road — and we don’t just mean hangovers. These Help Remedies Packs ($4 each) contain the cure for whatever ails you — plus, they are rather cutely packaged!

Please do us a favor and never set foot on the beach without painted toes! It’s just not cute. The Sephora by OPI Indian Summer Mini Set ($18) is universally appealing, and perfect for your summer plans — no matter where they take you.

New York Color City Duet 2 in 1 lip color ($3) How annoying is it to pack toiletries in your travel bag? You want cosmetics that match your every outfit, but don’t want to pack your whole beauty box. City Duet is genius — it has a split-bullet style, letting you play makeup artist and create your own custom hue — or go as low (or high) intensity as your look demands.

Sunscreen has to smell nasty to work, right? NOPE. The unscented version of COOLA Sunscreen for Body ($32) is great sun protection, and yet it doesn’t smell gross! Imagine that. Plus, it’s super moisturizing thanks to the added cucumber and shea butter extracts.

You may be headed to the beach, but at some point, dinner and drinks are going to happen — and when that moment comes, this Kimchi Blue Silky Lace Hem Midi Dress ($99) is perfect!

Summer is all about heat, right? And whether your heat means sweating on the beach (or with a date in the hot tub), the SEPHORA COLLECTION Moonshadow Baked In the Heat Palette ($30) rocks our socks off. There are 10 shades of shadow that go from sultry to sexy — and will keep you looking steamy!

The best way to deal with bites? Don’t get bitten! We’re obsessed with Avon SKIN SO SOFT Bug Guard Plus Picaridin Towelettes ($14). They protect against dreaded insect bites — and come in self-contained towelettes which makes them completely TSA-friendly!

Retro suits are HOT right now, and our bagel-loving middles couldn’t be happier. Anthropologie’s Isometric Maillot ($40, on sale) is perfect: The bright pattern in the middle of the suit makes us appear more petite than we really are. We want one in every color.

No matter how nice the hotel is, never rely on their bath products. You may love them — or you may hate them (or worse, be allergic to them). Skin goes through a lot of stresses when traveling, especially when in hot, humid climates. We also carry our Eucerin Skin Calming Dry Skin Body Wash ($8) with us. It’s great for calming (and treating) itchy, irritated skin — and gives your body a great foundation for whatever the rest of the day brings.

The sun and bugs love us — must be because we’re so sweet, and Sun Bum Cool Down ($9) can be a game changer. It soothes burned and bitten skin with aloe and tea tree oil, and also helps with the pain associated with bug bites and other skin irritants. It’s a must-have for every bag you own!
