The Golden Globes have officially set the tone for the 2013 awards show season, and let me say, the bar has been set high. Here are a few of my fave trends from the night!
Pops of color
There was certainly no loss of color, sparkle and class on this carpet. Truly, it was just the perfect amount of fashion fun! Reds, blues and of course neutrals took over Hollywood Fashion in a grand way. Hair was very old glam and most celebrities chose to wear it down.
Versace was not wrong in making red his signature color, and neither were any of the celebrities that chose red for this carpet. Jennifer Garner would have to be one of my favorites in Vivienne Westwood Couture with a beautiful red bow detailing the top of her gown.
Another standout is Nicole Richie in Naeem Khan. Nicole is not someone I would normally wait for or necessarily highlight for her looks on the red carpet, and yet I could not say enough about her at the Globes. The light blue detailing and floral design of her dress was beautiful. I absolutely adored the long sleeve, and her Old Hollywood hair really was a perfect addition to the look. All in all, I would say I was left breathless by many dresses this evening and I couldn’t be more excited about the season ahead.

Prints take the lead
Printed dresses caused a stir on the carpet including Halle Berry’s chic gown (and her legs of course), Tina Fey went Old Hollywood in black and white and the beautiful Sienna Miller opted for Erdem, reminding us that no matter how cold it is, spring flowers are right around the corner.

Black, white and neutral all over
One of my favorites would have to be Kate Hudson in black Alexander McQueen. Hudson showed just the right amount of skin, combined with class and elegance. Her gold embellishments were perfect with her hair and couldn’t have been more stunning.
There was also no shortage of white this year. Hayden Panettiere in Roberto Cavalli could not have looked more beautiful in her mermaid gown. Very light accessories kept the focus on her dress and she could not have shined more. Megan Fox in Dolce and Gabbana was flawless. She also chose a mermaid style with only earrings to add a small amount of glitz to her simple elegant look. Lea Michele also decided to show some leg in an incredible white Elie Saab gown. Let us not forget Anne Hathaway in Chanel. I would have hoped for some color from Anne and was actually shocked by her neutral choice; however, she kept it classy and stunning.

And the winner is…
All in all I would have to say Jessica Alba would be my winner for the evening. Alba chose a mermaid Christian Dior peach dress. Her hair was beautifully swept to the side, which showed the absolutely gorgeous necklace she chose. I felt Alba was a breath of fresh air at the show. Simple and incredible were two words that came to mind.
Best-dressed man, you wonder? Hands-down, Bradley Cooper just wins my heart!
This is the kind of awards show that makes a stylist like me go ga-ga — the perfect blend of trending color, mixed with simple and elegant neutrals with understated accessories. Well done to all of my favorite celebs — keep it stylish and simple.
