Before you break out the riding boots for fall, treat your feet to some fun in the sun. We asked stylist Alexandra Evjen of AVE Styles to share some of her favorite summer shoe trends.
Clogs
Etna (Sandgrens, $169)
You might be surprised to see a clog looking so stunningly chic. Evjen turned us on to Swedish clog maker Sandgrens, and let’s just say we’re having serious shoe lust for this retro-chic oxford-style Etna clog — and the Bali and the Milan — you get the idea.
Pointed flats
Lou Pointed Toe Flat (Loeffler Randall, $250)
Every girl needs a versatile and comfortable pair of flats to throw on and run out the door with. This summer’s pointy flats (one of Evjen’s favorite styles of the moment) are a sexy switch from the usual ballet flat.
Tasseled loafers
Bronx (Dolce Vita, $80)
Menswear has been one of the hottest trends this summer — in both clothing and footwear. Pair these tasseled loafers with rolled jeans, a button-down shirt and a panama hat for an easy-breezy summer outfit.
Ankle boots
Jeffrey Campbell Everwell Cutout Ankle Boot (Urban Outfitters, $155)
Give even the sweetest sundress some sass with a pair of ankle boots. Studded or suede, cutout or cowboy, ankle boots are the perfect way to add a little badassery to your look. This pair comes from one of Evjen’s favorite designers, Jeffrey Campbell.
Wedges
Ruby Ankle Cuff Wedge Sandal (Sigerson Morrison, $119)
When it comes to wedges, there’s a style to suit just about every mood. Cork wedges may go with your favorite pair of jeans and an afternoon at the coffee shop, while these sleek metallic wedges by another of Evjen’s favorite designers — Sigerson Morrison — are screaming to be taken out on a hot summer date.
You can find her styling photo shoots, digging through closets, reading every fashion magazine she can get her hands on, frequenting coffee shops and enjoying the company of friends and family.
