Friday’s Fashion Obsessions: Ashley Madekwe and Camilla Belle

Although I miss watching her weekly antics on Revenge, I am pretty pleased that Ashley Madekwe isn’t leaving the fashion scene anytime soon. The actress showed up to a Golden Globes event this week in a black and white strapless dress I can’t take my eyes off.

I don’t know if it’s awards season being in full swing or a new trend, but so many celeb ladies are rocking classic, retro looks lately. Of course, I love it! The black bodice of Ash’s dress is nice and glossy and draws the eyes upward to her stunning red lip and sleek locks, while the bottom half is a more muted satiny material featuring black and white stripes. She accessorized the look by stepping into some metallic pointy toe pumps and grabbing a gold boxy clutch.

The final verdict? Amazing work, Ashley! You kept the look classy and classic but still put your own spin on things with some fun accessories.

Camilla Belle

There were a lot of stylish ladies to choose from this week, but as soon as I saw Camilla Belle’s breathtakingly beautiful blue dress, I knew she had earned a spot on my best dressed list. Find out why I’m crushing so hard on the look!

There’s something about a cobalt blue anything that really makes you stop and stare. The color is one of the hottest trends for the winter season, and it looks amazing against Camilla’s bronzed skin tone. The strapless gown looks comfortable, chic and classy — a fashion combo that’s not always easy to achieve — and I adore the pleated bottom. Camilla kept things simple by adding a statement necklace, a cuff and some stud earrings to complete the look.

The final verdict? This reminds me a lot of Allison Williams’ 2013 Emmy’s dress — stunning yet simple. With such a bold color, you can afford to keep the silhouette of your dress a bit toned down!
