Friday’s Fashion Obsessions: Emma Stone and Sarah Hyland

Emma Stone and Sarah Hyland‘s beautiful celebrity styles made us do a double take this week. We’re telling you why in this week’s installment of Friday’s Fashion Obsessions.

Emma Stone

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters today and we’re a wee bit excited to watch real-life couple Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield’s onscreen chemistry. Emma has been on a whirlwind fashion parade promoting the film and her latest couture choice has us going weak in the knees.

To fete the New York City premiere of the film, Emma stepped out in a flowing nude gown featuring embellished detail at the top. We know what you’re thinking: a nude gown on a fair-skinned beauty like Emma? For years, pale gals have been told to use nudes, creams and whites sparingly in their style for fear of being washed out, but Emma easily disproved that theory here. The delicate detailing on her gown lends a touch of color to the gown and draws the attention upwards to Emma’s signature red locks and her pretty pop of color pout. Side cutouts also add an extra touch of sexy to the otherwise modest gown.

The final verdict? Emma showed off her newly cropped bangs and subtle highlights, wearing her locks in beachy waves. The casual ‘do looked totally appropriate against the beautiful but fairly simple gown and was the perfect finishing touch to a killer red carpet look.

Sarah Hyland

When you think about crop tops, the word classy doesn’t usually come to mind, but Sarah Hyland showed us they have some chic potential this week while making a very fashionable TV appearance in New York City.

Once reserved for toned teens and music festivals, the crop top has gone mainstream (much to many women’s dismay) and it seems it’s here to stay — at least through summer. So we’d like to thank Sarah for showing us a seasonally appropriate way to rock crop tops while the weather warms up a bit. See that sliver of midriff? That’s just the right amount of skin to show if you want to class up a crop top, ladies. High-waisted, loose-fitting white trousers and an unbuttoned blazer provide a touch of sophistication and bold blue cutout pumps insert a touch of sass into the overall ensemble.

The final verdict? Sure, midriff isn’t acceptable at the office — seriously, don’t even try to push the boundaries — but that doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun classing up crop tops in your downtime. This is one look we’re definitely warming up to.
