I always love to have fun nail designs, especially for my summer beach vacations. This summer we are doing a low-key trip to California with our newborn. I wanted to do something fun and playful to celebrate our time at the beach.
t For this trip I will be doing some fun polka-dot nails. Here are some tips for how I achieve this look with Q-tips Precision Tips.
- t
- Paint your nails with a beachy base color, like nude or white.
- Cut off the end of the cotton swab to get rid of the cotton and leave just the base. It’s the perfect little circle for polka dots.
- Drop some nail polish onto the cap of a polish remover or anything plastic and dip the end of the cotton swab into the nail polish.
- Carefully press the cotton swab onto your nail. Repeat to get however many polka dots you would like.

Let’s say you want to get truly festive; turn this into a flower design. To achieve this look you’ll create five dots with the end of a cotton swab in a flower shape. Then using a thick needle or anything solid with a small point create a line from the middle of the dot into the center of the 5 dots. Do that to all the dots, and add a yellow pop of color with your angled tip, and you have yourself a flower.
