Target’s new designer collaboration is very Jackie O

Just as Diane Von Furstenberg is to the wrap dress, Lilly Pulitzer is to the shift dress revolution. The designer had an orange juice stand in 1959 in Palm Beach, Florida, which she made from her husband’s endless orange groves. One day, she decided to hide all the stains on her dresses by making them in bright, wild prints. Today everyone from the Kennedys the Vanderbilts have worn the Lilly shift.

Now Target wants in on the preppy household name. The retailer announced their limited edition Lilly Pulitzer collection for Target will hit stores April 2015. Yes, fashion is the main ingredient but they didn’t stop there. The collaboration also includes designs for home goods like pillows and napkins and glassware.

We went straight to Instagram to take a sneak peek.

1. There’s printed pants and there’s preppy, lacy tops

And I really hope those beach towels grace shelves somewhere for me to accidentally discover the next time I run into Target to “just” pick up some shampoo.

2. Accessories? Check

Doesn’t everything in this photo transport you to Palm Beach on a boat in the sunshine? You can smell the ocean, I just know it.

3. Can someone turn those dresses towards the camera?

Something about these prints really does make me want orange juice.

4. It wouldn’t be Target without swimsuits

I really hope the line includes cool vintage one-pieces or high-waisted bikinis.

5. There’s just as much metallic as there is neon

If I can only buy one single thing from the Lilly for Target collection, these gold toe flats will be it.

6. Pick a scarf, any scarf

Then pair it with your favorite basic dress, and you’ll be Lilly-fied.

I just hope the fun collection has sizes for all. They’ve been known to slight the plus sizes, and that’s one things we would change about Target.
