It’s hard to pick a favourite gown from the Bafta red carpet but we’ve narrowed it down to these.

Best actress nominee Reese Witherspoon chose a purple Stella McCartney gown with a plunging neckline to walk the Bafta red carpet.

Keira Knightley continued her run of amazing maternity dresses in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture (and gets extra points for arriving with a leather jacket over it).

Felicity Jones stood out in Raf Simons for Christian Dior Haute Couture. The black and purple colour block was an interesting combination and the flower embellishment a pretty finishing touch.

Amy Adams‘ ice-white Stella McCartney gown was a great contrast to the red carpet, accessorised perfectly with a wide side parting and minimal jewellery.

Rosamund Pike‘s form-fitting halter neck Roland Mouret dress won’t win any awards for imagination but it’s elegant and timeless.

The semi-sheer bodice of Laura Haddock’s one-off, full-skirted Ashli Couture dress stops it from being too princessy; the off-white colour stops it from being too bridal.

Julianne Moore achieved the perfect balance of sophistication and sex appeal in this fiery red Tom Ford number with daring plunging neckline.

Holliday Grainger chose Antonio Beradi and proved once again that monochrome is hard to beat on the red carpet — especially when it has a vintage feel.

Lea Seydoux’s canary yellow Prada gown was a showstopper, the cut out sections, capped sleeves and pleating giving a classic shape a contemporary edge.

Possibly the most stylish couple of the night was Hannah Bagshawe and Eddie Redmayne. Hannah’s floaty grey Valentino gown had a feathered collar and beautiful lace detail and her hubby looked the part in a midnight blue Giorgio Armani velvet suit, crisp white shirt and black bow tie.
