What do you have on tap to wear for fall? As the leaves fall, as will many items from our wardrobe – but choosing the most important items to replace those items with is a big decision. Best known for creating the idea of “Shop Your Closet,” we are style expert Colin Megaro’s biggest fans. He gave us some guidance on his predicted biggest trends for fall 2010.
Green pieces
Green is far and away the color of the season. Jewel-toned, forest, olive, chartreuse, apple, and hunter green. Look for a solid green with a texture this season. Try a cap sleeve dress in emerald green or a green python jackets. If green is not your color try a great statement necklace or a patent green top handled bag.
Mid-calf boots
Boots are always in fashion, but this season women will go for a mid-calf boot. They can be worn with just about anything but look great with tights, pleated skirts and slim legged jeans.
Pant suits
Re-done tuxedos, the exaggerated silhouette of a strong shouldered-jacket with a hip seam pant or the classic one-button jackets with flat front skinny pants. Not just for the professional, a well-fitted pantsuit can be worn almost anywhere and gives you a stylish, sophisticated look.
Delicate feather details
A great accent, feathers add an ephemeral touch to any outfit. Try a Guinea feather skirt, sandals with peacock feather details or for a night out a dress with a sequined top and feathered skirt. Hats and collars with feather details are a great way to accessorize. Think fall colors and look for ostrich, peacock, pheasant or marabou.
Military
Military inspired fashion continues to evolve this fall. All about a sleek look with slim cuts, try a military inspired pencil skirt, camo cashmere scarf or a re-designed military coats. Look for darker hues, army green or navy with brass buttons and epaulets.
