5 Style lessons from Coachella

Coachella offers a fabulous opportunity to enjoy music from a variety of different genres — and the three-day annual music and arts festival is a hotspot for unique fashions, too. Let’s take a look at five style lessons we learned from Coachella this year.

Denim is not
just for jeans.

One of the hottest styles of the season — the denim dress — was on display at Coachella. Taryn Cox wore an adorable denim mini dress with fabulous sunglasses and a terrific hat. Denim is being used in everything from handbags to jackets to shoes right now.

Boho-chic
is still chic.

Though often overdone, Bohemian pieces can still be stylish. Alessandra Ambrosio looked sexy and cool with a colorful fringe boho scarf over her neutral Rebecca Taylor dress. A pair of slouchy boots with this summery dress makes her look eclectic outfit work.

Effortless
style is in.

Throw on a maxi dress or a full-length skirt for a breezy style that is effortlessly cool. Diane Kruger did it right in a black tank and neutral maxi skirt. She finished off the look with a fedora — another hot trend this season.

Polka dots
are back.

Polka dots are back in a big way this year — especially, dotted ’50s-inspired dresses., Kelly Osbourne wore a blue and white polka dot dress to Lacoste’s pool party. Though we could do without the cat-eye sunglasses, the floppy sun hat and socks with mocs were fabulous, too.

Boots can transition to spring.

Don’t put your ankle boots in the back of your closet quite yet. The temperatures are still low enough in the early morning and evening that you can slip on a pair of boots with any outfit. Nicole Richie partnered flat suede boots with a roomy floral frock for a hippie-chic look that can’t be beat.
