Rumors of a racy, female version of HBO‘s Entourage have us flashing back to the sidewalk runways famous in Sex and the City. So, we set out to get the style file for the untitled drama set to air in 2012.
The little tulle skirt, the newspaper dress, knee socks, funky hats and eccentric dresses. If we weren’t running out of breath, we could go on for days about the iconic TV fashions debuted on HBO’s Sex and the City. Or, we could put our focus in front of us and gear up for the next female entourage to hit our TV screens. In fact, that’s exactly what we did. But can we expect the sidewalks of LA to live up to the sensational sidewalks turned catwalks from SATC?
Emily Montague, co-writer and co-producer of a new HBO series, met up with us in Los Angeles at the fashion hot spot, Planet Blue, to give us a little insight into the next round of TV fashion. “Will the show be very fashion oriented?” We asked Emily.
“Absolutely. I think fashion will be a big part of the show. It’s more fun — it’s girly.” However, the show itself will be a darker comedy than either Sex and the City or Entourage have been. Emily, who also plans to star in it, tells us that it will be very gritty and push the limits on the average interpretation of women. Click here for a sneak peek of the show.
To get more details on the still under wraps project, Emily showed us three outfits that her female entourage would likely have hanging in their closets.

Venice girl:Hippie chicLook number one is based off of a girl from Venice with a bohemian style. For this look Emily suggested: A black crocheted skirt with a floral top. It all looks so liberating. We stumbled across these Jeffrey Campbell wooden wedges that will lend any look a hippie vibe. |
Country girl:Midwestern glamEmily hints that one of the girls might be from the midwest, a recent LA resident. She suggests: Some cut offs and a loose blouse with lace backing to dress up the country style for the streets of Los Angeles. Jewelry like the fishnet necklace by J. Crew will also help glam up the country vibe. |
Party girl:Scene styleFor a character who may be used to going out on the town more, Emily picks out a sequined dress for the avid party girl. We found more shimmery styles that we’d love to see enter the world of TV fashion via HBO. The one-shoulder sequined dress from ASOS was at the top of our picks along with the ASOS Multi-sequined dress. And who doesn’t love an ombre dress with a little glitter? |
