Pretty Little Things: Beauty products that smell good enough to eat

Welcome to Pretty Little Things, where each week we bring you our picks for the prettiest little things online. If we love it, you’ll be the first to know! This week we’re looking at beauty products – the kind that smell so good you wish you could eat them.

Smelling delicious

We all want to smell good; that goes without saying, but in this particular Pretty Little Things column, I want to talk about smelling great. Some of my favorite beauty products are the ones that smell good enough to eat. From body butters to shower gel, take a peek at the tasty beauty treats I love. And the best part? No extra calories!

Mango body butter

I have been using the Body Shop’s mango body butter ($6 to $25) for several years on and off, and I can’t get enough of the creamy, sweet but subtle scent it leaves on my skin. The rich, mango-scented cream not only smells like the just-picked tropical fruit, but it moisturizes for up to 24 hours, leaving skin smooth, soft and of course, good enough to eat.

Classic fudge cake 3-in-1

Chocolate in the shower? I say why not! You can’t go wrong with the 3-in-1 shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath from Philosophy and I can’t help but gravitate towards the more indulgent (and chocolaty) scents, like the ultra-yummy classic fudge cake ($16). The only problem with using this tasty product is how long you end up spending in the shower, dreaming of decadent, fudgy dessert.

Coffee and sugar body scrub

Supplement your morning cup of coffee with a caffeinated shower jolt. I can’t get enough of the Kona coffee and sugar detox whole body scrub from Pacifica ($28). The energy-inducing aroma is only one part of this scrub’s appeal – it also smoothes and brightens skin using all natural ingredients such as coconut oil, sugar and sea salt and is free of sulfates, parabens and other potentially harmful ingredients.

Sweet & spicy hand cream

I have long been a fan of all Bliss products but none more so than their hand cream, which I always keep in my purse for on-the-go softening. I am particularly in love with the blood orange and white pepper scent ($8), a tangy, sweet and spicy concoction that leaves hands hydrated for hours.

Honey lip balm

Lip balm is another purse essential and my current go-to pout perfector is LUSH honey trap ($7), a delectable combination of honey, vanilla and white chocolate. Not only do I want to reapply every two minutes (yum!), but it also does a great job of softening my lips.
