With the Footloose remake hitting theaters today, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the movie’s release than with a new Footloose-inspired nail polish line.
Nail polish is fun in general, but themed nail polishes are always a bit more exciting in our book. The new Deborah LippmannFootloose Nail Lacquer Set is no exception. The line, carried exclusively at HSN.com, features four unique shades inspired by the movie. We asked Lippmann for her inspiration behind the line, and have the scoop for you here!
The inspiration behind the line
“I am a huge fan of the original Footloose, so admittedly I was nervous about the idea of a remake of such an iconic film,” Lippman says. “I just saw a pre-screening of the movie and just loved the new version. IIt is so well done and I’m thrilled to be a part of it through this collaboration.”
Lippmann created two unique nail polish sets ($32 each) to celebrate the remake of Footloose and each features two shades inspired by the film: Almost Paradise, a playful pistachio inspired by the Volkswagen Beetle from the original and the new movie is paired with Footloose, a rebellious red that was naturally inspired by Ariel’s iconic red cowboy boots. Let’s Hear It For The Boy, a baby blue shade, was inspired by the strong presence of acid wash jeans, and is paired with Dancing in the Sheets, a deep midnight purple shimmer that Lippmann says was inspired by the movie’s triumphant ending (we won’t reveal too much, for those of you who haven’t seen the original!).
