Showing off your new cut or color can be very satisfying, but what if you could actually do good and help others while you impress? The nonprofit charity organization Glamour Gone Good launches “12 Days of GGGiving” starting Dec. 6 to raise money for women’s causes.
This holiday season, participating salons and spas will join Glamour Gone Good to raise thousands of dollars for girls’ and women’s charities.
“I started Glamour Gone Good because there are so many small salons that make up the beauty industry, but didn’t necessarily have the power to give back as larger salons do,” according to Glamour Gone Good founder, Shikha Vasaiwaa. “I launched 12 Days of GGGiving so all salons and spas would have the opportunity to give back and build consumer loyalty before the end of the year.”
How it works
During the 12 Days of GGGiving, salons and spas nationwide such as Blue MedSpa in Atlanta, Plush The Salon in Gwynn Oak, Maryland and Toscana Medispa in Baltimore will join together to raise money for 12 days. Think “The Twelve Days of Christmas” for this one.
How to give
For the first six days, the participating salons are encouraged to push their best beauty products and donate a percentage of profits from the sales of the six different beauty products each day.
For the remaining six days, salons should highlight services their customers love, such as manicures, pedicures and blowouts, and donate a percentage of those beauty care profits each day.
Glamour Gone Good will then collect all donations and donate to their three highlighted charities, Dress for Success, GEMS and Sister to Sister.
Plus, Glamour Gone Good will be hosting a “12 Days of Giveaways” initiative each of the 12 days by partnering with the vegan beauty line, Colure. Follow @glamourgonegood on Twitter and enter to win fabulous products such as the Curl Wave Styling Crème and Richly Moisturize Shampoo.
Whether you’re a customer or salon owner, this is an excellent way to spread that holiday cheer while you get holiday ready this season.
