Retro flair in for spring

We visited the Waste Management Phoenix Open, an annual golf tournament located in North Scottsdale, Arizona, to see the stylish crowd that flocked to the greatest show on grass to get you inspired for spring fashion.

Charisse,
Molly
& Julia

One spring trend that we continually saw on the grass was sheer, flowy tops in an array of colors reminiscent of the 1970s.

Charisse, Molly and Julia were all keeping it chic at the Open with their sheer, colorful tops.

Charisse (left) said that she wore her outfit because it can easily go from day to night with a little layering. Her top is from a boutique in San Francisco; she could not recall the name.

Molly (center) is wearing a J. Crew top, AG jeans and Tory Burch shoes and describes her style as effortless.

Julia (right), whose colorful top is from Singapore, liked the silhouette her top gave.

Kristen

Kristen, who kept it simple in all black, describes her style as classy chic.

Her top and jeans are from Bebe and her shoes are Tory Burch.

Although spring trends tends to have a lot of color, there is nothing wrong with wearing dark colors either. There really is something edgy and exciting about wearing head-to-toe black.

Kelly

Kelly, a Las Vegas fashionista, likes to wear things that are girly and also a little bohemian.

She is wearing an H&M blouse, shorts and boots, which are from Nordstrom and accessories from Francesca’s.

We really liked that she wore her colorful shorts with her mid-calf leather boots. It definitely gave this sweet ensemble that bohemian vibe and really worked with her top.

Our picks

Feminine, sheer fabrics are perfect for spring.
To recreate these looks, we found several tops that will fit the bill.

Guava Glam Top from Mod Cloth retails for $65.

Red Haute Slouchy Mandarin Collar Sheer Shirt from Nordstrom is available in coral and aqua and is priced at $78.

Gathered Sleeve Blouse from Forever 21 in rust is available for $18.

The light, colorful fabrics are a great addition to your spring wardrobe and will easily transfer over to summer. Pair these tops with denim cut-off shorts, jeans, printed leggings or skirts for an easy-breezy look that will still feel polished.
