Like what you saw on last night’s Project Runway All Stars episode? I take my favorite look from the night off the screen and into your closet so you can steal the look. (There will be no catty designer fights over these looks… you will look and feel stunningly divine… trust me.)
My favorite look of the night?
Mondo’s dramatic, exciting and wildly colorful dress and jacket combo. The challenge was to design something “rich” for the Broadway stage, and you could really see a dramatic thespian singing her heart out in this creation.
Fashion tip: Believe it or not, women of all shapes and sizes can wear full-length skirts or dresses. If you are somewhat shorter or plus size, the key is to keep your look as elongated as possible. Try wearing a heel or platform heel to stay taller. If you’re wearing a maxi skirt, it’s best to wear something tighter on top and tucked in to create that waistline and a more hourglass shape. You will look much larger if you have something flowy on the top and the bottom.
Also, while Mondo did feature a longer jacket with the maxi, which does look great on a tall, slender model, I suggest opting for a cropped jacket this spring. A shorter jacket won’t cover up your bottom half, so your legs will continue to look long and not chopped off in any way.
