Celebrity fashion on a dime with stylist Jeni Elizabeth

Every girl in the world wants to dress like a celebrity and have the bank account of a celebrity. Reality check: Most don’t! Here is the good news girlies: You don’t have to make millions to look like a million bucks! It doesn’t matter whether you’re hitting the red carpet or a girls’ night on the town, here are the latest trends to invest in to look like a celeb — thrifty style.

These days hundreds of our favorite designers are doing their best to create styles and trends hot from the runway at an affordable price. I just love it! Everyone from French Connection to BCBG Max Azria to Charlotte Russe is working around the clock to ensure that you look amazing, on your own paycheck.

Florals

Key tip: Make sure everything else is solid and simple. You want to make the statement with the flowers and leave it at that. Pair an adorable sundress with fun colored accessories and a solid cardigan and you are fun and fashionable without overkill.

Flirty florals have never been so fun! Nothing says spring and summer like flowers, and what better way than on a sundress? Here’s the great news: Once you throw on that perfect floral covered piece, it is smooth sailing from there. One of my favorites this season is an adorable floral blouse, like this one (left) from Joie ($130), with red denim jeans, casual yet trendy and adorable! I am obsessed with these floral Converse from Zeyzani ($158)! So fun, so cute and perfect with the colored denim trend!

Neons and pastels

Neons and pastels are here to stay. While neon is taking on a life of its own in spring, we are now making way for the pretty pastels this summer. No need to get rid of any neon, but adding a few pastel pieces, like this Juicy Couture dress ($228), into that closet is a good idea to transition your trend. Our runways and red carpets have been flooded with neutrals, soft lilacs and mint greens. The good news is it’s not just Valentino that is whipping out these creations. Nanette Lepore and even Banana Republic have the same styles with fun ruffles and lace at a much more affordable price. Take a tip from the stars and run and grab yourself something light and fun. Make sure to leave your black pumps at home for this look and go with a metallic shoe or a fun summer wedge instead. It will make all the difference in the world.

Colored denim

Spice up your denim collection and go bold! Regular blue jeans are so MC Hammer. Dare to liven things up this season. Everyone from The Gap, JBrand and even Forever 21 is offering adorable (and affordable) bright colored denim jeans that every girl needs to have in her closet this spring. These days, seeing a celebrity who is not rocking red, green or yellow denim is like seeing a celebrity with no makeup — not to mention the burst of color is a must for summer. From bold hues to pale pastels, as long as your jeans are not the typical blue denim, you are on your way to being fabulous! I love HA-67 denim. These jeans fit amazing, never stretch out and are absolutely affordable!

Trust me, being stylish doesn’t have to mean wearing the most expensive threads. I have celebrity clients that love getting a deal just as much as the everyday girl. After all, being a smart shopper is as stylish as you can get.
