A bright color, simple silhouette, forgiving skirt — all great components of a summer dress. As much as I love accessories, a lot of the time I wear simple outfits that are quick to put on and get out the door — you know, chasing after four kids and all. I grab whatever I can find while they’re occupied, but only keep items in my closet that I am comfortable in and that I love.
Next time I wear this dress, I’ll probably switch it up and add more dimension. Another way to wear it is with a chunky gold necklace, cardigan and oxfords or with floral patterned tights and heels. With a simple dress, the combinations are endless.
There are a few other summer dresses I have my eye on (I’m headed out on a girls’ shopping trip in two weeks, so I’ve been scouring my favorite stores online, but not buying anything) and they all have this same silhouette — fitted on top and A-line skirts. I know that it’s the style that works best with my body type.
These sweet wedge oxfords are comfortable and can easily be dressed up or down. They’re the perfect pair of shoes.
