Quick ways to make your skin glow

Ready to give your skin a youthful glow? We asked the experts for quick ways to take your complexion from dull to dazzling.

1

Get physical

Use exercise to flush out toxins and bring fresh oxygen to your skin.

“The expanded surface blood vessels bring your natural glow to the surface,” explains Dr. Jessica Krant, board-certified dermatologist, founder of Art of Dermatology on 5th Avenue and assistant clinical professor of dermatology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

2

Keep it clean

It’s important to wash your face day and night to keep pores clear of oil, dirt and free-radical damage, adds Dr. Howard Murad. He recommends following up with moisturizer and his new Advanced Active Radiance Serum — which is clinically proven to improve brightness, clarity and radiance by 60 percent in less than one week.

3

Yogurt mask

Would you believe the makings for a chemical peel can be found in your refrigerator? Dr. Krant says you can apply plain yogurt directly to your face. The lactic acid in the yogurt acts not only as a gentle chemical peel but also as a mild antibacterial — which is great for helping to fight acne.

4

Homemade honey scrub

Mix honey with damp, used coffee grounds for a freshening scrub. Honey works as a natural moisturizer and antiseptic, while the grounds gently exfoliate your skin. Dr. Krant suggests using Manuka honey, the variety best known for its acne-fighting and wound-healing properties.

5

Lemon juice lightener

Wake up your skin with lemon juice. The multitasking citric acid in lemon juice helps to exfoliate, fade brown spots and dull patches, and fight blemishes. Dr. Krant says lemon juice can be applied directly with a cotton ball from time to time or diluted with warm water for more frequent use. Leave on your skin until dry, then rinse.

6

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

We all know drinking water is great for your skin, but after a while, it can get pretty boring. Switch things up by brewing some decaf tea or treating yourself to a glass of coconut water. Just make sure you buy pure, unflavored coconut water (without added sugar), says lifestyle and wellness consultant Jasmine Jafferali.

Quick tip

Give your whole body a healthy glow with Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Spray & Go moisturizer. It’s infused with cocoa butter and absorbs after just a few rubs, leaving you soft and silky in seconds.
