Drake: Chris Brown “made me the enemy

Their brawl made headlines, but what really happened between Drake and Chris Brown? The hip-hop star is breaking his silence.

Their bar fight was over a year ago, but the feud between Drake and Chris Brown lives on. The “Started from the Bottom” rapper is breaking his silence on the bottle-smashing brawl that he says “made him the enemy” in the narrative of the evening, supposedly over the affections of Rihanna.

Drake spoke out in an interview with GQ. “I hear he has everything he could want now,” Drake said, referring to the fact that Brown and Rihanna had reunited at the time of the interview (they have since split again).

“I don’t want my name to be synonymous with that guy’s name. I really don’t. I wish we could sit down, just like you and me are right now, and talk it out man-to-man. But that’s not going to happen. I’m not confrontational, but if someone challenges, I’m not going to back down.”

“It’s embarrassing, the amount of media coverage,” he said. “Two rappers fighting over the woman. He’s not even a rapper, but still, it’s the last way you want your name out there. It distracts from the music. But he’s made me the enemy, and that’s the way it’s gonna stay, I guess.”

But Drake wants to take the high road, so he avoids dwelling on the subject for too long.

“If I think about it too much, I feel it wrapping around my foot, like I get a feeling it could end really badly,” he said.

Chris Brown isn’t Drake’s only enemy. Former fan girl Amanda Bynes, who once tweeted that she wanted Drake to “murder my vagina,” has turned on the hip-hop star and thrown her worst insult at him.

“I only like @Drake because he’s so ugly! His ugly cheeks at the EA conference! Fine he is not, but he knows he’s ugly! I’ve spoken to him!” she tweeted last week.

She later apologized, writing, “I’m sorry about the tweets I said about @drake I didn’t mean what I said. I hope to become friends with him instead of smashing him!” but today wrote, “I don’t like leading people on. I will not date @Drake ever. I only want to be his friend. I’m sorry that I insult him but it’s hard not to!”
