We’ve got good news for All My Children and One Life to Live fans. Both shows are heading back to TV courtesy of Oprah Winfrey and OWN.
Oprah Winfrey has heard our prayers. The media maven’s made millions of soap fans happy thanks to OWN. Wednesday it was announced that current web soaps All My Children and One Life to Live are returning to TV. But instead of their previous ABC home, they’re moving to cable.

OWN president Erik Logan released a statement confirming the good news. “These shows have proven to be very popular with a significant, loyal fan base, not to mention Oprah herself is a big fan,” he said. “Many of our viewers across numerous platforms have expressed their passion for the soaps so we are especially excited to air this limited engagement on OWN.”

Meanwhile, the head of Prospect Park (the shows’ producers), Jeff Kwatinetz, echoed Logan’s sentiments. “We are really excited to bring OWN viewers and our audience at large an opportunity to catch up on All My Children and One Life to Live on traditional television. We look forward to our millions of fans enjoying the first 40 episodes of the shows.”
Starting July 15, OWN will air the first 40 episodes of the revamped soaps. It’s being described as “a special exclusive 10-week limited engagement.” Episodes will run Monday through Thursday with All My Children airing at 1/12c and One Life to Live at 3/2c.
We’re not surprised by the network’s decision. OWN recently doubled up on episodes of their Tyler Perry soap The Haves and Have Nots. There might be something in the water over there. We’re happy fans will finally see these shows back on the small screen.
