A Project Runway ad was banned in Los Angeles for being too racy, but that hasn’t stopped Lifetime from rolling it out in New York City.
The NY Daily News reports that a racy ad for Project Runway‘s new season will begin running on
billboards and buses in New York City, despite the fact that the same poster was deemed too raunchy for the city of Los Angeles.

The poster in question features nude models lying over steps while Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn look down from above. Both hosts are dressed in royal clothing and seem to be quite happy to have their naked subjects below them.
Yep, you read that right. Los Angeles has actually banned a poster for flaunting too much nudity. That statement alone is probably the most shocking part about this entire story. In a city that appears to have no problem with displaying posters of models in varying degrees of undress, this one apparently went a little too far them.

But don’t worry, Los Angelenos, you’re going to get the chance to see the poster, too — well, sort of. Toofab reports that a tame version of the poster with the models in underwear will run instead.
Project Runway begins its 12th season on Thursday, July 18 with a whole new batch of hopeful designers. According to a recent article from Lifetime, they are introducing some new elements into the show to really get fans involved, including something called “Runway Redemption,” which will let fans choose a contestant from a past season to be the 16th contestant for Season 12.
