It’s hard to keep up with Hollywood’s never-ending hookups and breakups. The latest? Jane Lynch and her wife are splitting.
The Glee star announced in June that she would be ending her relationship with her psychologist wife, Lara Embry, after just three years of marriage. Now the couple’s marriage has officially been terminated as of July 12. Isn’t it so sad that another couple has decided to call it quits?
Documents presented to the court state that the couple has been apart since this past February. The 52-year-old actress, who is currently starring in the Broadway production of Annie: The Musical, has already moved out of their shared Laurel Canyon home in Los Angeles.
TMZ reported that Lynch officially filed for divorce in a Los Angeles County Court, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
She is now seeking to terminate the the court’s jurisdiction to award her ex-wife, 44-year-old Embry, spousal support.
Lynch told People in June, “Lara and I have decided to end our marriage.”

Her statement continued: “This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter.”
The couple got together after they met at a fundraiser for the National Center for Lesbian Rights in 2009. At the time, gay marriage was not legal in California. The couple tied the knot less than a year later in May 2010 in a ceremony in Sunderland, Massachusetts.
According to the legal documents, the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement and will therefore have to split their marital assets 50/50. Although, they have no children together — Embry has two daughters from another relationship — the split has been very hard for the couple. We hope they find happiness elsewhere in the future.
