Soul icon Tina Turner has finally married her boyfriend after 27 years together.

Turner wed German producer Erwin Bach “a few days ago” in a civil ceremony on Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland, confirmed official Hannes Friess to the AFP.
The couple, who met at a record label party in London in 1985, will continue their celebration with a Buddhist ceremony at their home in Kusnacht, witnessed by 120 A-list guests including David Bowie, Eros Ramazzoti, Sade and Oprah.

Turner will reportedly don a gown designed by Giorgio Armani, while the couple’s guests have been asked to dress in all white for the occasion.
In a 1996 interview with 60 Minutes, Bach made clear his relationship with Turner was based on Tina’s true self, not the Tina Turner mythology.
“I’m not in love with the rock act,” he said of the “Proud Mary” singer. “I’m in love with the human being.”

The pair has been shacking up in Switzerland together for 18 years. In April, Turner handed in her U.S. passport and became a Swiss citizen.
“I am very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here,” she told the German newspaper Blick. “I could not imagine a better place to live.”
This is the second marriage for Tuner, who was previously married to Ike Turner (who admittedly physically abused her) from 1962 to 1978. She has two biological children, Craig and Ronald, and raised Ike’s two sons from a previous relationship as well.
