TibbyAmber Tamblyn is back on TV and this time it’s not for yet another showing of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. She’s got an all-new gig on CBS!
Awww! Our little Joan of Arcadia is all grown up! Not only did Amber Tamblyn recently tie the knot, but now she’s making her way back to television to star in several episodes of Two and a Half Men! We knew a new female role was coming, but we didn’t know who it would be or what would happen. Now we do.
Kutcher’s role in Men did so well, they renewed the show! >>
She’ll have quite an interesting role, too! Amber will arrive on the scene as Jenny, daughter of the dearly departed Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen). According to reports, Jenny will have moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. While she’s there, she’ll want to reconnect with her family… despite the fact that it no longer includes Charlie.
And, oh yeah — she’s bisexual.
E! spoke to creator Lorne Michaels to get the dish on that choice.
“The idea that she loves women seems to be something that just felt right,” Michaels said. That’s not the only way she resembles dear old dad, either. “The character as we know her now as she only exists on the page, is a pretty remarkably strong and ballsy character.”
That sounds exactly like Charlie Harper!
Ever wonder what Jon Cryer thought of all the Men scandals? We know the answer! >>
Tamblyn’s presence will be much needed, as the half-man, Angus T. Jones’ role has greatly diminished after his outburst against the show was made public via YouTube. Jones wanted out of the show and the writers have, mostly, allowed him to escape. We’ve heard he won’t even be in the opening credits anymore. Ouch.
So, what kind of relationship can we expect Tamblyn to have with the men in her father’s house? Michaels has basically said “no” to any romantic relationship with Walden (Ashton Kutcher).
“I think it’s going to be uncomfortable at first, then maybe over time there might be some affection there,” he told E!.
Oh, well! We still can’t wait to see Tamblyn back in action.
