Anthony Bourdain has never been shy about sharing his opinion, and he is again talking about Paula Deen, chef to chef.
Anthony Bourdain was one of the first, and still one of the most widely known, celebrity chefs. Although Bourdain has left the kitchen behind, he understands the industry, and finally opened up about Paula Deen‘s newest controversy in an interview with Yahoo!.
Bourdain was asked about what Paula Deen has been through this summer, from the beginnings of a lawsuit to the loss of an empire, and said, “It would require a long complicated answer and I don’t have the heart to pile on at this point. I take no pleasure in it, let’s put it that way.”

The chef has worked in kitchens his whole life, and now owns many. While he said a complaint from an employee may be a common issue, it doesn’t mean it’s acceptable.
“This was a workplace problem,” Bourdain said. “I think, clearly… let’s put it this way. I am no angel. But at no point in my life ever would some of the behaviors described in those depositions be accepted in any kitchen I ever ran.”
This isn’t the first time Bourdain has talked about Deen. In 2011, he told TV Guide that Deen is “clearly” the “worst, most dangerous person to America.”
“She revels in unholy connections with evil corporations and she’s proud of the fact that her food is f—ing bad for you,” he added. “If I were on at seven at night and loved by millions of people at every age, I would think twice before telling an already obese nation that it’s OK to eat food that is killing us. Plus, her food sucks.”
Deen responded at the time by saying, “Anthony Bourdain needs to get a life.”

Yikes! Bourdain is clearly not someone who keeps his opinions to himself, but that personality has made him the endearing entertainer he is today.
The celeb chef made the jump from the Travel Channel to CNN for his new show Parts Unknown. The second season of the show is headed to Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, and will premiere Sept. 15 at 9/8c.
