Did Kelly Clarkson just call Miley Cyrus a “pitchy stripper”?

Miley Cyrus was the talk of social media Monday morning after her bizarre appearance at the MTV VMAs, but did Kelly Clarkson take her review of the show too far?

Of all the reviews of the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, Kelly Clarkson’s 14 word tweet about the show may end up being the most-talked about.

Miley Cyrustwerking, half-naked performance was the talk of social media the day after the show, and many were concerned with what she may have been thinking. Her singing didn’t get many positive reviews either, and she may have been the one Clarkson was talking about.

However, Cyrus wasn’t the only female performer of the night, and Clarkson could have been talking about a variety of others, including Katy Perry or Lady Gaga (or all of them).

Clarkson has made her living off her voice, and seems to take offense when other women don’t live up to her potential.

However, the American Idol singer wasn’t the only one to tweet about Cyrus’ performance. Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek also took a shot at the singer, or rather an accessory she used during the show.

Cyrus also helped Mariah Carey’s husband Nick Cannon made an important life decision for his children.

Cyrus’ former TV mom Brooke Shields appeared on the Today Show Monday morning and, in her motherly way, showed she did not approve of the spectacle.

“I was Hannah Montana‘s mother. I do not approve,” Shields said. “I just want to know who’s advising her, and why it’s necessary. I mean, the whole finger thing, and the hand. Robin [Thicke] probably at that point was going, ‘I don’t think this is a good idea. Our children can’t watch that. I feel like it’s a bit desperate.”

Meanwhile, Cyrus didn’t seem too concerned with all the talk. She took to Twitter Monday sharing the good reviews she received Sunday night.
