Following the family tradition of drinking and partying to excess, Dina Lohan was arrested Thursday night and charged with DWI.
Lindsay Lohan‘s mom, Dina Lohan, was arrested for drunk driving in Long Island, New York on Thursday and charged with a DWI. She was pulled over at around 11 p.m. for going 77 mph in a 55 mph zone and when checked, she had a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit.
Cops said that Lohan appeared intoxicated when they approached her, so they had her blow into the Breathalyzer. According to the police press release, the 50-year-old mother had a level concentration of .20.

The release also revealed that Lohan told police she got injured during the arrest, but when medics checked her over they found nothing wrong. “When emergency personnel arrived and evaluated Lohan, there were no injuries and she recanted her claim,” the police statement read.
Lohan was released later and picked up by a third party after being issued two DWI offense tickets and another ticket for speeding. She is scheduled to appear at the Nassau County 1st District Courthouse on Sept. 24.

Following in the footsteps of her daughter Lindsay, Dina Lohan has been seen partying and drinking to excess lately. The troubled socialite was photographed at a giant Labor Day bash where witnesses told TMZ she was a drunken mess, slurring her words and zoning out all night.
This arrest comes on the heels of her daughter Lindsay’s release from a rehab facility, where she spent three court-mandated months. Lindsay Lohan is no stranger to drinking and driving herself, having been a repeat offender and notorious partier.

However, Lindsay claims she wants to turn things around for herself and lead a better life. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey this past August, the Mean Girls star acknowledged her addiction to alcohol and drugs, saying how at the time, drinking and taking Adderall made her feel better. “I was convinced it grounded me,” she said.
“It allowed me to drink more,” Lindsay added. “That’s why I did it. It was a party thing.”
