Chad Michael Murray, Kenzie Dalton end 7-year engagement

Longtime couple and former One Tree Hill co-stars Chad Michael Murray and Kenzie Dalton ended their engagement after seven years.

One Tree Hillsweeties Chad Michael Murray and Kenzie Dalton have split up after a seven-year engagement.

The couple kept quiet about their split and actually decided to end their engagement earlier this year, a rep confirmed to E! News.

“Chad Michael Murray and Kenzie Dalton quietly parted ways earlier in the year. Please respect their privacy at this time,” Murray’s rep said.

The former couple met on the set of the CW hit show in 2005, after Dalton nabbed a walk-on role as a cheerleader for an episode of the series. At the time, Murray was married to Sophia Bush — who also starred on One Tree Hill — but she filed papers to seek an annulment after only 5 months of marriage.

By the time the divorce was finalized in December 2006, Murray was already engaged to Dalton. The couple, however, never married and instead dragged on their engagement for seven years.

Rumors that the pair were finished came after Murray was spotted leaving West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont earlier this week with Australian actress Nicky Whelan, who is his Left Behind co-star.

Seemingly already over the split, the Scruples star tweeted a thankful message to friends and fans, saying, “Love you friends out there! Thanku all of u for the unbelievable support & kindness. Happy bday to anyone I’ve missed this year! Cheers!”

Not only is Murray moving on from his relationship with Dalton, but he’s also moving up in his big-screen career. In addition to Left Behind, the 32-year-old actor is starring in Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas. The show stars a handful of other big-name celebrities, including Larry the Cable Guy and Alicia Witt.

Plus, Murray has snagged a leading role as P.K. in the film Other People’s Children, and he will star as Jay in the upcoming comedy Cavemen.
