Fifty Shades of Grey wine? It’s a thing

Drink like Ana and Christian with Fifty Shades of Grey wine.

The official release of the first Fifty Shades of Grey film is still about a year away. However, author E.L. James wants to help you create your own movie magic in the comfort of your own home, courtesy of the official Fifty Shades of Grey wine.

“Wine plays an important role in Fifty Shades of Grey, adding to the sensuality that pervades a number of scenes,” James writes on the official wine website. “I’ve always had a penchant for good wine, so combining two of my passions to blend Red Satin and White Silk was a natural extension of the series. I hope my readers curl up with a glass as they enjoy the romance between Anastasia and Christian.”

The wines — Red Satin and White Silk — were reportedly developed and “personally blended” by the British author and winemakers in California’s North Coast. Red Satin is described on the website as a “decadent red blend of Petite Sirah and Syrah with flavors of black cherry, cocoa powder, creamy caramel and vanilla, leather and clove spice,” while White Silk is “a delicate yet rich white blend of Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc. White Silk’s flavors include floral aromatics of lychee and honey, tempered by flavors of crisp grapefruit, mineral and lush pear with a faint hint of butterscotch.”

Sounds… delicious! Affordable, too: Each bottle retails at $12.

The wine isn’t the only official merchandise sanctioned by the author. This summer, James teamed with British lingerie brand BlueBella to release the first Fifty Shades of Grey lingerie collection. The panties, bras and other sexy delicates are all tagged with lines from the book, like “Oh, my!” and “Laters, baby!”

Somehow we think there will be a lot more merchandise released before Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam take over the big screen as Ana and Christian.
