Marano might be new to younger Disney Channel viewers, but the 17-year-old Los Angeles native has quite the impressive list of acting credits, including stints on Dexter, Joan of Arcadia, Without a Trace and Ghost Whisperer. She’s also been on the big screen with roles in Superbad, Ice Age: The Meltdown and The Jacket.

Acting isn’t the only thing important to the burgeoning superstar, though: Marano was just named the 2013 Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Ambassador. In this role, Marano will “advocate, educate and fundraise for the original Kids Helping Kids campaign, which has already raised more than $170 million since 1950 to aid children around the world,” the organization said in a statement.
