It’s time for a little fall cleaning with Oprah Winfrey. She’s getting rid of her junk so you can buy it at her huge yard sale.
Get ready to shop because Oprah is cleaning out her closets so you can buy her stuff. Fans of the media mogul were excited to learn on Wednesday that Winfrey is just like you and me, she’s having a yard sale.
The 59-year-old TV personality announced the news via Twitter.
She wrote, “I’m having the biggest yard sale ever!”
Oprah almost suffered a nervous breakdown >>
The tweet also included a link which gave more information to her followers about her secondhand items.
The auction site said that the sale would happen on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club in Carpenteria, California. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation College Fund to help the students graduating from her school in South Africa attend colleges all over the world.
For those interested in what The Butler star is selling, the listing revealed “antiques, contemporary furnishings and fine art from Ms. Winfrey’s residences in Indiana, Hawaii, Chicago and Santa Barbara, as well as items from the ‘La Quinta’ estate and from various properties of Bob Greene [her personal trainer].”
Interested buyers will have to pay $50 to receive the color catalog or wait until Oct. 18 when the online version becomes available.
There is one photo on the event information page showcasing an “18th century Louis XVI paint-decorated cabinet [made of] oak with light green and cream paint wash [and] with mullion paneled glass doors and hand-carved crest.”
This definitely isn’t your IKEA cabinet she’s trying to get rid of, so buyers should expect to pay a pretty penny to own some of Oprah’s gently used items.
