Miley Cyrus finally opens up about her heartache

Miley Cyrus appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to finally open up about the details of her heartache following the split from Liam Hemsworth.

A lot has changed in Miley Cyrus’ life in the recent months and there is no denying that her changed image has been getting her a lot of attention.

“The Climb” singer had yet to speak out about her breakup with fiancé Liam Hemsworth until her appearance on TheEllen DeGeneres Show on Oct. 11, where she opened up about her love life.

Cyrus and Hemsworth were once the couple of the moment — they got together for the first time in 2009 after meeting on the set of The Last Song.

The pair were smitten for a long time and took their relationship to the next level with an engagement in 2012.

However, the “Wrecking Ball” singer doesn’t appear to be as upset as some would expect following her split — maybe that’s because her relationship was falling apart for some time before the couple finally called it quits.

Cyrus told Ellen DeGeneres, “It’s not really as awkward because I’m living it, so I think people spend more time actually thinking about it than I really do.”

“I just believe when a chapter is done you have to close it and start that new one. That’s kind of where I am right now.”

Cyrus appears to be remaining upbeat about the whole situation and revealed that she’s happy and thankful for where she is and what she has in her life, saying, “I have so much to be thankful for at this time that my energy hasn’t really been focused on that.”

Cyrus added, “I really am genuinely happy… finally with myself, which I think sometimes it takes separating yourself from someone else to really be happy with who you are.”

The Nashville, Tennessee-born singer’s latest album Bangerz is all about heartbreak and a failed relationship, and she revealed, “I think it says that with starting with ‘Adore You’ and ending with ‘Someone Else’. I feel like you can find this arc of growth… I think I knew more intuitively where my life was going than what I actually thought I did at the time.”

This marks a very different tone from Cyrus’ last visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November 2012, when DeGeneres threw her an engagement party complete with male strippers. The “We Can’t Stop” singer had previously gushed about Hemsworth and how excited she was to tie the knot with her beau.

At the time, the young star told DeGeneres, “It has to be perfect. It has to be like a soundtrack in a movie. That’s the one day where that movie crap is real. That romance.”

“That look is the time that you get that… I’ve been to probably 10, 20 weddings and I’ve seen that real look five, six times. It’s rare that people just stop to really look the person in the eye and know that this is your life together.”

The 20-year-old singer won’t be getting that look anytime soon, but she may take the opportunity to see more male strippers.

As Cyrus jokingly commented on the strippers she received in 2012, saying, “I should have kept one of those dude’s numbers, it would have come in handy.”
