As intimidating as it may seem to co-star with such iconic actors, Romany Malco and Jerry Ferrara say it was an unbelievable experience to work with the Flatbush Four — Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline and Robert De Niro — at one time.

“That made it unique just starting off the process,” Ferrara says. “Then when we got to work with them, it was amazing.”
“In my head, I’m assuming there’s going to be this veil between us and them,” Malco says, “and when we showed up, they were inclusive, they were warm. They were on us like, ‘Hey man, what was it like being on Entourage?’ or, ‘You worked with Mary-Louise Parker on Weeds; dude, come on, talk to me.’ They were like regular guys. There’s no hierarchy, and they leveled the playing field.”
Malco and Ferrara play, respectively, Lonnie, the group’s host at ARIA casino; and Dean, a young punk who provokes Douglas and friends but ends up learning a thing or two about how to treat and approach women — something Ferrara says he “hasn’t done very well up to this point.”

“I’m definitely not like my character,” he adds. “I’ve never been good at the approach part. I feel like all those lines are designed to break the ice and make you laugh at me, and then we can have a conversation. I’ve never walked up to a women I did not know and tell her, ‘You’re absolutely beautiful.'”
Malco takes a different approach to, well, approaching women.
“I only approach women when I’m in my car, in case it gets violent,” he says.
