Who’s hotter: Brian Kelley vs. Tyler Hubbard (Florida Georgia Line)

Parks and Recreation actress and comedian Mara Marini puts the Florida Georgia Line members head-to-head in our weekly debate and asks you to decide: Who’s hotter?

Brian Kelley

Kelley grew up right next to the beach, just south of Jacksonville, Florida. He always loved music and, after graduating university, became more involved in songwriting. He then met Tyler Hubbard through a mutual friend and the two formed Florida Georgia Line. They signed their first publishing deal in 2011, and now the hip pop-country duo has four nominations for this year’s annual CMA Awards.

Tyler Hubbard

Born in Monroe, Georgia, Hubbard also had a love of all things music. He attended Belmont University aspiring to be a songwriter, but then met Brian Kelley and became a band. The duo is breaking down the boundaries that separate country and pop music. Tyler is 26 and Brian is 28, and they are quickly “Cruise”-ing to the top of the charts.

Talent

Brian Kelley: He began to play the guitar and sing in high school. He idolized Garth Brooks and the way he could pull such strong emotion out of his songs. He’s said the biggest part of a song is the lyrics they are singing. Other influences are Casting Crowns and Kenny Chesney.
Tyler Hubbard: Hubbard’s interest in music began in the church. He learned to play guitar and became a youth worship leader. In high school, he and some friends formed a group that would rap and create beats for hours after school.

Trivia

Brian Kelley: He has stated that he’d love to collaborate with Lil’ Wayne or Rihanna.
Tyler Hubbard: While attending university, Hubbard lost his father in a tragic helicopter accident. He returned to Nashville to pursue his dreams, knowing it was something that would make his father proud.

Fitness

Brian Kelley: Kelley likes to play baseball.
Tyler Hubbard: They’ve been on tour for a while with a tour bus stocked with booze and chips. Yet, they still manage to maintain their muscular physiques!

Kindness

Brian Kelley: The duo donated musical instruments to Nashville’s Hard Rock Café and, in turn, the Hard Rock made a generous donation to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
Tyler Hubbard: They haven’t forgotten about where they’ve come from and just feel blessed to be able to do what they love.

Pets

Brian Kelley: Kelley is quoted as saying the duo doesn’t even have time for a dog, let alone being married and having children.
Tyler Hubbard: See Kelley’s quote.

Intelligence

Brian Kelley: He played baseball for Florida State University and Daytona State College and transferred to Belmont University to play on their team. His love of music won over his love of sports and he started to pursue music full time.
Tyler Hubbard: Hubbard attended Belmont University’s reputable music business program.

Commitment

Brian Kelley: A man of few words, he has admitted to having a girlfriend, but has not revealed much beyond that. In a June interview, he said he was single (which could have been a white lie to fan the fire for his female fans?); but in September, he stated he only has eyes for his girlfriend.
Tyler Hubbard: Currently single.
