In a startling move, Kate Gosselin drops ex-husband Jon Gosselin from her multimillion-dollar wiretapping lawsuit. Co-defendant Robert Hoffman may not be as lucky.
Kate Gosselin just dropped ex-husband Jon Gosselin from her multi-million dollar wiretapping lawsuit. Gosselin still insists that the co-defendant, Robert Hoffman, illegally spied on her to obtain private information for use in his tell-all book, Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled The World.

Gosselin dismissed the wiretapping lawsuit with prejudice which means she is prohibited from suing Jon in the future for on the claims addressed in the lawsuit. The mother of eight originally sued her ex-husband back in August 2013.
In the 18-page lawsuit, Gosselin claimed that Hoffman used his friendship with Jon to reveal confidential information about the family that he later sold to the tabloid Star magazine and revealed in his book. The lawsuit attempted to make the case that Jon stole the information from Gosselin’s hard drive which he then used to access her cell phone and financial records, like bank account statements and tax filings.

“Jon Gosselin disseminated the information he obtained from hacking Kate Gosselin’s email account, bank records, computer, and cellphone to Defendant Robert Hoffman. The Defendants then published the information that Jon Gosselin illegally obtained in several publications. Hoffman knew his activities were unlawful, and at one point even told Radar Online: ‘I’ll be sued by one or more parties before this is over.'”
Gosselin said Jon and Hoffman illegally profited from the sale of her private information and “distorted the facts to make stories more salacious for the tabloids, which equated to higher payouts of their information.”

Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled The World was removed from Amazon.com and other major retailers within days of its release. Hoffman claims much of the information was obtained from Gosselin’s own diary entries which he found by digging through her trash.
