VIDEO: Adam Levine thanks mom for making him sexy

Adam Levine stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to accept his Sexiest Man Alive award and thanked his mom and dad, among many others, with a hilarious speech.

During a funny speech after accepting the People‘s Sexiest Man Alive award on Jimmy Kimmel Live Wednesday night, Adam Levine thanked a long list of people including his “incredibly sexy” parents.

The Voice coach and singer proudly accepted his prize, a hand-held mirror on a trophy stand, and told fans how much this award meant to him. “This is a tremendous honor,” he said, adding that many people say this award is totally shallow and “just a media stunt to sell magazines and perpetuate the image of Hollywood being based on looks. And that’s totally true.”

When Levine first got word he won People’s sexy merit, he actually said it was “definitely funny.” So, in line with that train of thought, the Maroon 5 front man kept on with the humor of it all, making fun of himself as he took the award from Kimmel.

“Becoming this cool, confident and seductive has been quite a journey,” Levine joked. “In fact, I made a list of people I’d like to thank,” he continued as he glanced at himself in his mirror trophy and said, “Hey!”

Levine went on with his list, thanking “first and foremost both my mother and father for being incredibly sexy,” then his friends for constantly telling him “how f***ing sexy I look, thanks boys.” Next he cited some sexy actors who took the award prior to him in recent years: “George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, George Clooney, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and George Clooney, of course.”

Not being able to contain his laugh at this point, Levine went on to thank Nick Nolte for being named as the sexiest man in 1992. He admitted, however, that the award “was maybe not so out of reach as I might have once thought,” referring to the scraggly photo of Nolte People published on its cover.

Levine also mentioned how thankful he was to “Ryan Gosling for turning this down constantly. That really helped my campaign.”
