The best of Sheryl Crow: The ’90s vs. now

Sheryl Crow‘s career spans all the way back to the late ’80s, but her real heydays were in the ’90s and, from the look of this year’s ACA nominations, now. We take a look at the best of this veteran rock chick, then and now.

The ’90s

Since many of us can’t replay our memory reel of the ’90s without a steady stream of Sheryl Crow hits marking milestones — the time we broke up with that guy, the time we got back together with him, the time we got that tattoo — we’re somewhat partial to Crow’s early heyday of music. Our faves?

2003 – The present

Although Crow’s true second-coming in music seems to be now — she is up for Artist of the Year: Female and Single of the Year: Female at this year’s ACAs — her music shifted in the early 2000s due to two events : the death of her friend Kent Sexton, after which she took a break, and the invasion of Iraq, which she strongly opposed. Over the last decade, her music took a decidedly country turn. Our faves?
