Surprise! Brian Kelley of the Florida Georgia Line is married

Brian Kelley of the Florida Georgia Line band married his sweetheart, Brittney Marie Cole, in a surprise and unexpected wedding on Monday.

Florida Georgia Line‘s Brian Kelley got married in a surprise wedding to his secret girlfriend, Brittney Marie Cole, on Monday at his home in Nashville, Tennessee.

Not many people knew Kelley was seeing anyone seriously, but the singer did have a girlfriend for a few months and was planning to marry her to boot. The happy couple tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony among a small group of friends and family, People magazine reported.

“The whole process has been nontraditional,” Kelley told the magazine, “There was no official proposal or exchanging of rings. We had just fallen in love, and I knew I couldn’t live without her. It sounds like a terrible cheesy movie, but when you know, you know!”

Kelley and Cole have actually known each other for more than three years but met when they were both in other relationships. They finally got together romantically about seven months ago.

“She definitely caught my eye [back then],” Kelley said. “Brittney’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. I always knew in my heart that if I were single, then I wanted a chance with her. She was my dream girl.”

When they began dating, Kelley, 28, said he and Cole, 23, “knew it was something real” for them. “I’d never wanted to make someone my wife before,” Kelley added. “I always want her by my side.”

Cole agreed, saying “we just knew. There was this energy that we had never felt before.”

Their wedding was a low-key affair, although it was “fun and cozy and warm,” according to Cole. After the ceremony, the couple’s 40 guests enjoyed a tapas dinner in a recently renovated barn and then moved into the house for drinks and dancing.

As for her dress, Cole found what she wanted on the Etsy website. Her “dream” gown was a short, long-sleeved dress that she paired with a headband made of feathers. She also said it was easy to obtain since she “didn’t have to go to 6,000 bridal stores to find it.”

As for having children with Cole in the near future, Kelley said they definitely want that, but just not quite yet.

“One day for sure,” Kelley said. “But it’s too crazy with everything going on right now.”
