Will there ever be another Spice Girls reunion? One very integral member of the group says no way.
Victoria Beckham will not be back onstage to Spice up your life any time soon.
Despite Mel B.’s most fervent wishes, there will not be another Spice Girls reunion — at least, not if Posh Spice has anything to say about it.
The singer-turned-fashion designer, who covers Vanity Fair Italy and Spain this month, told the mags that she’s hanging up her platform shoes once and for all in favor of her clothing career.
“I won’t ever do it again,” she said of another Spice Girls reunion. “Doing the Olympics was an incredible honor. I was so proud to do it; proud to be British…
“That was a perfect time to say, ‘That’s great. Thank you to everybody, but no more.’ Sometimes you’ve got to know when it’s time to leave the party.”
That’s not to say there is no connection between her life as a Spice Girl and her life today.
“The Spice Girls were successful because we celebrated women,” she explained. “That’s why I do what I do today.”
Victoria isn’t the only one in the Beckham household who refuses to look backwards when it comes to career. Her husband David retired from his long, successful soccer career last May.
“It was very emotional. We were so proud. He couldn’t have given more to the sport than he did,” she said. “After so many years, we have shared — and continue to share — him with so many people. So it’s nice to have him home.”
