Ever wondered what it’s like to work on the Boardwalk Empire set? We caught up with Jacob Ware to find out.
SheKnows was fortunate enough to catch up with the handsome and talented Jacob Ware at the 2014 SAG Awards last Saturday night.
Ware stars as Agent Harold Selby in Season 4 of HBO’s hit drama series Boardwalk Empire (nominated for the SAG award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series). This was his first award show and we were very pleased to talk with him.
Attending lavish events can be daunting and we wanted to know if Ware felt nervous being at his first SAG Awards show. Ware said, “This is my first awards show, first red carpet event. So I’m just kinda like, ‘Don’t sweat, don’t panic.'”

Being a part of such a critically acclaimed series is a career achievement and Ware credits his cool persona and success to Boardwalk Empire. He said, “Boardwalk [Empire] is a super-cool, classy show, so I’m just trying to get some of those vibes — and learn how to wear a suit.”
If you’re not already a massive fan of Boardwalk Empire, then luckily for you Ware has some serious reasons why you should watch.
Ware explained, “It has the best show-runner in TV, Terry Winter. He’s phenomenal. I have never seen a show with more precise, detailed art design and art direction. They are so specific with everything so you could essentially watch the show on mute and just be like, ‘This is the best show ever!’

“[It’s] the writing. Don’t put the show on mute because of the writers! You’ve got people like Howard Korder, Terry Winter — those people take it to a whole new level. This is the golden age of TV and they’re like the embodiment of that.”
